Steps to submit an application are as follows:
 
Fill out the Staff Application, Background Check Authorization, and Health Form and mail, email or fax them in as directed on the Staff Application.  
 
Positions will be filled as applications are received, so apply early for your best chances at a position.
 
Applications will not be considered until we receive all three completed forms.  Employment decisions are subject to the completion of a background check.

Basic qualifications to work at camp:
  • Interest in sharing the Norwegian culture with youth through creative programming in the area you are hired into - whether staff or operations
  • Have a history with Masse Moro as a camper or as a staff member (not required, but beneficial)
  • Must be a minimum of 18 yrs (exceptions may be made depending staffing needs in a given camp year - Junior Counselors must be a minimum of 16 years of age)
    • Must be emotionally mature, of high moral character, able to work under supervision to accomplish the camp objectives
    • Have ability to carry out all general responsibilities as assigned - may include leading activities, teaching a language, supervising children, following guidelines set forth by the Beaver Creek Reserve and the Sons of Norway District V Heritage Camp Personnel Policies, assisting with opening and closing of camp, assisting with paperwork associated with closing camp, cleaning the facility (minimal), working as a team player
  • Ability to observe the needs of a camper or staff person, taking on responsibilities whether directed or not, and taking initiative to complete that task, asking for guidance and approval as neccessary from supervisors
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, energetic 
  • Ability to manage your own time - must be organized, prepared in advance of activities, ask for help, and make sure you are getting enough sleep at camp
  • Current CPR, or First Aid certifications are not required, but may be beneficial
    • Ability to relate to one’s peer group, resolve conflicts within the group, ability to communicate positive and constructive feedback
    • Ability to work positively under supervision and guidance of the Camp Director, Associate Director and Administrators
    • Good character, integrity and adaptability
    • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
