Qualifications
• Must be a minimum of 18 yrs
• Must be emotionally mature, of high moral character, able to work under supervision to accomplish the camp objectives
• Have ability to carry out all general responsibilities
• Current CPR, First Aid certifications are a huge plus
• Ability to relate to one’s peer group
• Ability to accept supervision and guidance
• Ability and willingness to assist in teaching an activity
• Good character, integrity and adaptability
• Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control

General Responsibilities
• To identify and meet camper needs
o Learn the likes/dislikes of each camper
o Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group
o Develop opportunities for interaction between campers and staff
o Provide opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success during camp.
o Provide opportunities for discussion of individual or group problems or concerns.
o Help each participant meet the goals established by the camp for camper development.
• To carry out camp programs.
o Guide cabin or unit groups and individual campers in participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities.
o Carry out established roles for supervising camper health.
o Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.
o Conduct and plan Norwegian Language classes
o Develop cabin or group activity plans with campers as appropriate.
o Supervise all assigned aspects of the campers' day including morning reveille, cabin clean-up, meal times, rest hour, evening activities, getting ready for bed, and after-hours duty as assigned.
o Instruct campers in emergency procedures such as fire drills, evacuating the cabin, etc. Help campers plan their participation in group oriented or camp-wide programs, special events, and activities.
o Assist in teaching or leading an activity, as assigned.
• To fulfill other staff administrative roles.
o Prepare for and actively participate in staff training, meetings, and supervisory conferences.
o Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing clean-up and chores, sportsmanship, and table manners.
o Follow camp rules and regulations pertaining to smoking, use of alcoholic beverages, and use of drugs. Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities.
o Manage personal time off in accordance with camp policy.
o Maintain good public relations with campers' parents.
o These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
• Supervise daily cabin or camp-wide clean-up chores, and have a shared responsibility to supervise the cabin area after hours.
• Make sure campers wear clean clothing and are appropriately dressed for the weather and activities of the day.
