Owen Christianson, the District Five Cultural Director, and PhD Nuclear Physicist, will set up his Grindbygningen at Masse Moro this week!  In case you don't know what this is, the Grindbygningen, or Grind building, is the Norwegian timber framing technique used by the Viking for their homes.  Owen is skilled at word working and will show the campers some of his pieces, including traditional viking bowls, plates, and tops.  For more information about Owen's work, please click on the articles below that Owen wrote to share what he has learned!

Camp opened on July 25th with 60 campers!  Thank you to our new Heritage Members and new Sons of Norway members for signing up at camp!  After orientation, we are looking at a 95% Heritage Member rate among 2010 campers!  Isn't that great news?  The main benefit for Heritage Members is that they will have access to some amazing programs through Sons of Norway throughout the year!  They will also be learning about the Sports Medals and Cultural Skills programs at camp this year, so be sure to ask your campers about what they learned while they were at camp.  Tusen Takk for your continued support of our program!
